Yellow and Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Kili Butta and Silk Thread Butta

A saree that carries the warmth of a marigold morning — this bright yellow Kanchipuram is woven with green silk thread butta scattered across the body in a rhythm that feels both festive and effortless. The butta scattered individually across the body are woven in silk thread only, with no zari.

The brilliant yellow body in pure mulberry silk is alive with two alternating motifs in deep forest green silk thread — a Kili butta (parrot) and a small circular medallion butta, placed at generous intervals across the full width. The contrast between the warm yellow ground and the forest green silk thread motifs is vivid and joyful, a colour combination rooted deeply in the classical Kanchipuram palette.

The border is narrow in keeping with the butta saree tradition — a gold zari band with a small green silk stripe running at the selvedge. The pallu continues the yellow ground with larger green silk thread Kili butta and the same gold zari border framing.
