16 Days on Loom
Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
Shaped by the Varisaipet tradition, where rows of classic Kanchipuram ornament are layered band upon band, this saree saves its fullest detail for the border and contrast pallu. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border Its prominent woven panels show elephant figures among curling foliage and ornamental scrolls, bordered by finely ordered geometric and floral rows, with green silk thread worked through the border and a manthulir green selvedge along the edge.
Pallu The pallu blooms into a brilliant red-orange expanse with a densely arranged gold-toned grid of small floral medallions, alternating figural borders and crisp parallel zari lines — a radiant meeting of old Kanchi tradition and celebratory colour.
Styling Wear with a vermilion-red or Kesari orange blouse for contrast, or warm ivory for a quieter tonal look. Ideal for weddings, temple celebrations and family festivities.
