16 Days on Loom
Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
This saree follows the Varisaipet tradition: ordered rows of Kanchipuram ornament stacked in bands along the border, opening into a contrast pallu that holds the full intricacy of the design. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border Framed bird-like forms, floral vines, tiny geometric motifs and rhythmic lines animate the border.
Pallu The grand radiant red pallu is filled with a glowing tapestry of fine zari columns, dense vegetal ornament and wider figural panels, creating a sumptuous contrast with the serene ivory body.
Styling Pair with radiant red silk or an emerald-green blouse for contrast, or understated ivory for a quieter look. Suitable for wedding gatherings and traditional celebrations.
