Warm Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Zari Kattam and Peacock Blue-Green Shot Border

Warm Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Zari Kattam and Peacock Blue-Green Shot Border

For an Onam Sadya and cultural programme by the Kerala association, this warm ivory Kanjivaram saree offers a lighter approach to ceremonial silk. The champagne-ivory body is patterned with fine gold zari checks, while a peacock blue-green shot-colour border brings a saturated contrast that changes subtly as the silk moves through the light.

❖ 42 days in the making. From dyed silk thread to finished weave, with about 16 of that on the loom itself.

This is a confirmed Zari Kattam composition in pure mulberry silk, with fine zari threads intersecting across the body to create its measured grid. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 6 to 10 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

Body, Border and Pallu: The warm ivory body carries a delicate all-over gold zari kattam with small decorative details held within the grid. Along the edge, two silk tones interact to produce a shot-colour border that moves between peacock blue and peacock green, finished with fine gold zari bands. The pallu continues the richer colour story with a densely woven zari lattice, broad ornamental registers, peacock blue-green framing and green tassels. Explore the Zari Kattam collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.

Styling: Echo the shot-colour border with a plain peacock blue-green blouse, keeping the blouse surface quiet against the detailed Zari Kattam body. Choose small pearl and gold earrings, keep the front pleats crisp, and wear the pallu open to reveal its woven field. Finish with a softly side-parted bun without flowers.

Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m running blouse piece. Colour and design are not separately confirmed. See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
