Woven in the Korvai tradition, the saree brings a warm Paal Vellai ivory body into strong contrast with a deep Arakku-red border. Individually spaced classic-gold zari buttas keep the body visually open, allowing the elaborate border and pallu to carry the denser ornament. Border: The deep Arakku-red Korvai border is built through multiple fine classic-gold zari registers around a broader ornamental band. Stylised bird forms and circular medallions alternate through the principal register, framed by floral and geometric detailing that gives the border considerably more visual density than the ivory body.

Pallu: The Arakku-red pallu becomes substantially richer, with extensive classic-gold zari, dense longitudinal registers and broad ornamental side bands. Repeated stylised bird forms and circular medallion-like motifs move through the gold work while areas of deep red silk remain visible beneath the metallic surface.

Styling: Use a deep Arakku-red blouse to extend the Korvai contrast, or warm ivory for a quieter and more contemporary balance. Antique-gold jhumkas, a restrained temple necklace and jasmine around a low bun or braid will work naturally. Keep the pallu fairly open over the shoulder so its dense woven registers remain visible.
