Woven in the Rettapet tradition, Warm ivory pure silk with delicate, evenly spaced narrow silk-thread lines in the body and an airy luminosity, giving the elaborate contrast border space to shine. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A striking raspberry-rani pink to arakku-red broad contrast border arranged in twin elaborate zari registers. Large pairs of peacocks spread their intricate plumage across a rich gold panel, framed by repeated floral and lattice bands.
Pallu: A richly woven arakku-red pallu, with repeated parallel zari bands, dense floral scrollwork and figurative bird-filled ornamental panels. Some panel motifs are parrot-like; their exact identification should be reviewed at aud if needed.
Styling: Use a raspberry-pink silk blouse with clean, elbow-length sleeves and a square back, or create a softer look with warm ivory silk and thin pink piping. Traditional gold earrings, a sleek braid and jasmine balance the grandeur of the twin-peacock borders.
