Warm Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Kamalam Mayil Korvai Border
Warm Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Kamalam Mayil Korvai Border
For a graduation celebration — a daughter's medical school graduation — this beautifully composed warm-ivory handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree is woven in the Korvai style. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 45 days on the loom overall and cannot be replicated by machine. Woven by our family's artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 45 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 20 on the loom — to complete.

The warm-ivory body is handwoven in pure mulberry silk, featuring alternating Kamalam lotus and Mayil peacock buttas in gold zari.
The broad burnt terra-cotta border combines gold zari and coloured silk thread, with rows of peacocks alternating with Pavun coin motifs, geometric latticework and ornamental bands, and a finely woven pallu completes the saree with ceremonial richness.
Styling Tip
Use neckline and sleeve geometry to modernise this heritage weave — a structured square-neck blouse in ivory or antique gold — while jewellery stays restrained to a single pair of gold studs, letting the blouse silhouette do the styling work.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour warm-ivory piece, with complimentary tailoring through August 27 ($30 value). See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
