Warm Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Sevvanthi Rust Korvai Border
Warm Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Sevvanthi Rust Korvai Border
For a Navratri garba night at a community centre, this vintage-inspired warm-ivory handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree is woven in the Korvai style. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 45 days on the loom overall and cannot be replicated by machine. This saree carries the legacy of the weaver families of Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. From raw silk to finished saree: 45 days, including about 20 of hand-weaving on the loom.

The warm-ivory body is handwoven in pure mulberry silk, with rows of paisley, peacock and floral zari motifs individually woven across it, each zari row alternated by fine silk-thread Veldhari lines.
The broad Sevvanthi rust-orange border features Mayilkann peacock-eye patterns arranged between Mayilpet peacock and Yaanai Ambari elephant panels, while the pallu is densely woven in burnished gold zari with layered traditional and geometric motifs — a true heirloom piece.
Styling Tip
This saree's richness earns a waist accent — a slim gold oddiyanam belt over the pleats — paired with antique-gold jhumkas and a self-colour ivory blouse, letting the belt be the one deliberate flourish against so much woven detail.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour warm-ivory piece, with complimentary tailoring through August 27 ($30 value). See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
