16 Days on Loom
Pure Mulberry Silk
Handwoven in Kanchipuram
A Varisaipet composition, in which traditional Kanchipuram motifs are set in ordered ornamental rows, so the border and the contrast pallu carry the full intricacy of the design. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border Within the ornamental bands, traditional elephant figures appear in repeating framed panels, accompanied by petite geometric, leaf and floral details.
Pallu The pallu deepens into an earthy brown-black field, densely lit by gold-toned zari: narrow chevron paths, repeating floral/coin-like rows and intricately framed figural motifs give it an heirloom architectural richness.
Styling Pair with emerald-green silk for contrast, or a dark brown or gold-toned blouse for a quieter traditional look. A classic for weddings, temple visits, festive gatherings and heirloom gifting.
