Woven in the Korvai tradition, this saree reveals Warm creamy ivory, like freshly opened jasmine blossoms in soft sunlight, with delicate silk-thread texture and small spaced gold zari floral buttas that let the luminous body breathe. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 20 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A richly contrasted arakku-red Korvai border glows with vermilion and antique thanga-gold. Between fine zari registers, handwoven mayil or peacock motifs alternate with floral and ornamental details, framed by leaf-like bands and intricate geometric edges.
Pallu: A grand arakku-red pallu dense with delicate gold floral-scroll zari, long linear panels and ornamental brocade registers. Repeated narrow zari dividers lend definition to the richly worked centre, while the contrasting fringe finishes the drape.
Styling: Make the blouse in vermilion pure silk with a deep V neckline, elbow-length sleeves and restrained gold piping. Alternatively, use ivory silk with the red border as a sleeve cuff. Antique-gold temple earrings and jasmine would suit the ceremonial colour story beautifully.
