Vivid Violet Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Butta Saree with Pasu-Kanru Gold Zari and Orange Border

Vivid Violet-Purple gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram a saturated ceremonial body, distinguished by prominent Pasu-Kanru motifs, the cow with calf, woven as generous gold-zari buttas across the silk.

❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 40 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 14 on the loom — to complete.

A classic Butta composition defines this Kanchipuram, woven in pure mulberry silk, distinguished by prominent Pasu-Kanru motifs, the cow with calf, woven as generous gold-zari buttas that are deliberately spaced so each narrative form remains clearly legible against the violet ground.

Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 14 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: A glowing Orange contrast border introduces warmth and carries traditional gold-zari ornamental bands.

Pallu: The pallu continues the Orange-Gold language through a richer woven zari field, creating a strong ceremonial finish.

Styling: Orange repeats the contrast, while tonal Violet keeps the Pasu-Kanru body uninterrupted. Antique gold or deep green creates a traditional jewellery and blouse direction.
