The pure mulberry silk body is woven in a beautifully saturated leaf green that becomes especially luminous as it catches the light. Individually spaced gold zari buttas alternate between petite floral medallions and stylised ornamental forms, allowing the remarkable green silk to remain open and prominent. The traditional Rettapet border is organised through repeated gold zari registers with prominent Mayil motifs, scrolling floral vines and fine geometric detailing. The pallu becomes considerably richer with long vertical zari bands and ornamental Mayil compositions. A narrow orange-red silk selvedge traces the edge, introducing a vivid finishing contrast against the leaf green and gold.

Styling suggestion: Pick up the orange-red selvedge with a plain raw-silk blouse in the same vivid shade. Add polished-gold jhumkas, leave the neckline relatively quiet and wear the richly patterned pallu open over the shoulder. A centre-parted low bun with jasmine will complement the fresh green and warm gold without overwhelming the border.
