Pomegranate Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Zari Kattam Saree with Antique Gold Zari Medallion Buttas, Yanai Border and Grand Woven Pallu

For a temple visit, a family celebration or any occasion that calls for jewel-toned silk, Pomegranate Pink brings an intense, jewel-toned radiance to this handwoven pure silk Kanjivaram Zari Kattam saree. Exceptionally fine antique-gold zari lines intersect across the body to form a delicate checked field, while a traditional Yanai elephant border and grand woven pallu carry the ceremonial weight of the drape.

This is a confirmed Zari Kattam composition in pure mulberry silk, with fine antique-gold zari lines intersecting across the body to form its structured checked grid. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 14 to 18 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

Body, Border and Pallu: The body carries a saturated Pomegranate Pink with a deep raspberry-magenta core, its radiance shifting from vivid fuchsia-pink in direct light to raspberry, magenta and richer crimson-pink through the folds. Exceptionally fine intersecting antique-gold zari lines form a delicate Kattam grid across the silk, with larger spaced antique-gold medallion buttas set at intervals, described here as Traditional Zari Medallion Buttas. The border is traditional and multi-register, built from repeating Yanai elephant motifs alternating with floral medallions, geometric framing, narrow parallel antique-gold zari bands and leaf-like woven edging against the deep Pomegranate Pink ground. The pallu is substantially richer than the body, with an expansive antique-gold zari field, dense repeating diamond and geometric lattice, finely worked ornamental bands and a warm copper-gold radiance where the pink silk shows through the dense zari. Explore the Zari Kattam collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.

Styling: Pair it with Pomegranate Pink for a tonal blouse, antique gold for a ceremonial treatment, or a deeper raspberry-magenta for added depth. The vivid pink and old-gold palette works beautifully for weddings, temple occasions, festive gatherings and Indian cultural celebrations.
