Turquoise Green Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Zari Kattam Saree with Gandaberunda Buttas and Purple Zari Border

A fresh turquoise-green body meets deep purple and warm gold in this handwoven Kanjivaram. Fine Zari Kattam checks give the silk a luminous surface, while the Gandaberunda buttas introduce a distinctive traditional motif across the body.

❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree spent roughly 16 active days on the loom, in addition to dyeing, threading and finishing.

The Zari Kattam structure lays a fine gold grid across the turquoise-green silk, with handwoven Gandaberunda motifs spaced through the body. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 16 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: A substantial deep-purple border is layered with warm gold zari, creating a strong contrast against the fresh green body.

Pallu: The deep-purple pallu is woven with dense geometric gold zari and ornamental framing, giving the shoulder drape a richer finish than the body.

Styling: Pair it with a violet, turquoise-green or antique-gold blouse and traditional gold jewellery. A sleek bun, flowers and a neatly pleated drape will emphasize the contrast between the cool green body, deep-purple border and warm gold zari.

Well suited to festive occasions, ceremonies, temple gatherings, classical performances, Diwali celebrations, weddings and receptions.
