Turquoise Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Aadum Mayil Chakram Rettapet Border
Turquoise Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Aadum Mayil Chakram Rettapet Border
Draped for a milestone birthday marked in silk — the saree she'll wear to blow out the candles — this striking turquoise blue pure silk Kanchipuram saree is handwoven in the Rettapet style: twin parallel border lines create a balanced layered edge, beautifully contrasted here with a warm brick-red border and fine royal-blue edging. Each saree takes 43 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Each saree comes from the weaver families of Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. From raw silk to finished saree: 43 days, including about 18 of hand-weaving on the loom.

The Rettapet body is handwoven in luminous turquoise blue pure mulberry silk, scattered with traditional zari motifs of Aadum Mayil — the dancing peacock — and Chakram, giving the expanse of blue silk a beautiful rhythm.
The Rettapet border is richly detailed with handwoven peacock and elephant zari motifs, framed by intricate ornamental zari work. The grand pallu is a highlight, woven with elaborate panels of zari peacocks and traditional decorative detailing that gives the saree a magnificent finish when draped.
Styling Tip
Pick up the border's warm brick-red for a self-colour-adjacent contrast blouse in a structured, architectural silhouette that balances the saree's vivid blue. Diamond studs keep the jewellery cool and contemporary against the warm palette, with the grand pallu displayed fully open and hair in a sleek low bun.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour brick red piece, with complimentary tailoring through August 27 ($30 value). See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
