Turquoise Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Saree with Varisaipet Weave and Royal Purple Border
Turquoise Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchi Pattu Saree with Varisaipet Weave and Royal Purple Border
Draped for a Bride's mother saree for a Texas wedding, this turquoise blue Pure Kanchipuram Silk saree is handwoven in the traditional Varisaipet weave. Each saree takes 42 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Woven on traditional looms by families across Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
✖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. Nothing here comes off a shelf. 42 days of dyeing, threading, and weaving go into every saree, 16 of that on the loom.
The Varisaipet body in turquoise blue — a luminous turquoise-blue body scattered all over with labor-intensive silk-thread buttas, individually handwoven into the saree on the loom — the coloured silk threads are carefully incorporated during weaving, not printed or embroidered, giving every butta its beautiful definition against the brilliant blue body, in pure mulberry silk.
The border is a magnificent royal-purple border, running in elaborate detail along both sides of the saree, combining rows of traditional floral and geometric panels, fine linear bands, delicate wave-like detailing and touches of gleaming zari, completed with a royal-purple pallu continuing the elaborate floral, geometric and wave-like detailing of the border, finished with gleaming zari.
Handwoven by skilled artisan families in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, using pure mulberry silk and traditional handloom techniques, this saree is perfect for weddings, festive celebrations and statement occasions.
The coordinating blouse continues the story beautifully, with the same richly detailed woven border designed to fall along the sleeve, creating a spectacular finish once stitched.
