Turmeric Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Korvai Saree with Purple Yazhi Throne Getti Border

Turmeric Yellow Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Korvai Saree with Purple Yazhi Throne Getti Border

Radiant Manjal yellow meets a saturated purple border in a Korvai Kanchipuram built around decisive contrast. The body is luminous and comparatively restrained, allowing the thick Getti border and its unusual Yazhi Throne motifs to become the unmistakable focus.

❖ 20 days on the loom, handwoven in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu by artisan weaver families — every purchase supports their village and this centuries-old tradition.

Woven in the Korvai tradition, the yellow body and purple border are visually distinct, making the contrast itself part of the saree's construction language. The body carries a subtle woven grid while the heavier ornament is reserved for the edge. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 20 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: The thick Getti border is woven in purple and warm gold zari, with distinctive Yazhi Throne motifs arranged as the principal ornamental feature. Their framed, architectural presentation gives the border an unusually strong presence.

Pallu: The pallu turns fully into purple and gold, continuing the Yazhi Throne vocabulary through a richly worked zari field and broad ornamental registers.

Styling: A purple blouse will sharpen the classic Korvai contrast, while a Manjal blouse keeps the yellow body dominant. Antique gold temple jewellery, sculptural earrings or a single long necklace will complement the thick Getti border particularly well.

The Manjal-yellow and purple combination is especially suited to Navratri, Vijayadashami, Diwali, weddings, temple ceremonies, classical performances, festive occasions, cultural gatherings and special occasions.
