Classic Lightweight Kanchipuram weaving defines the pure mulberry silk body of this Kanjipuram saree, with radiant turmeric-yellow or manjal silk body, predominantly plain and luminous. The restrained, largely plain body leaves the border to carry the ornament. The photographs do not establish a particular warp-weft ply count, korvai interlock, zari composition or other specialist loom construction. Handwoven for Idam Living by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. A saree of this type represents approximately 21 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: Warm rust-orange edging around a broad gold zari band with olive-green-toned geometric lattice and tiny floral-like repeats.
Pallu: Burnished rust-orange pallu with fine longitudinal gold-coloured zari stripes. Explore the Lightweight Kanchipuram collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.
Styling: A rust-orange blouse, traditional gold studs and a simple braid will pick up the warm pallu. Alternatively, choose a deep olive blouse to draw attention to the green-toned lattice in the border.
