Thulir Pachai and Raspberry Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Pattupet Saree
Thulir Pachai and Raspberry Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Pattupet Saree
Tender thulir-pachai green silk catches the light like new leaves after rain, with turmeric-gold reflections and a raspberry-pink Pattupet border.
Woven in the Pattupet tradition, this pure silk Kanchipuram saree uses a substantial silk-thread-and-zari border to frame a finely decorated body. A tender thulir-pachai green body washed with soft turmeric-yellow gold, like young leaves held against the morning sun. Petite handwoven gold zari buttas sit at even intervals, their restrained shimmer appearing almost absorbed into the silk. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 15 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A substantial raspberry-pink silk-thread Pattupet border, outlined with luminous gold zari and a fine deep-pink accent, holds a decorative peacock array. The woven band carries a delicate mesh-like texture framed by ornamental gold detailing.
Pallu: An expansive golden-green zari pallu with ordered bands of rudraksham, kamalam, vanki pet and chandrakala motifs, finishing with turmeric-yellow tassels.
Styling: Pair with a raspberry-pink silk blouse for contrast, or a muted gold blouse to draw out the quiet warmth of the zari.
