Sky Blue and Aqua Blue Vintage Pure Silk Kanchipuram Rettapet Annapakshi Saree

Sky Blue and Aqua Blue Vintage Pure Silk Kanchipuram Rettapet Annapakshi Saree

Pure Kanchipuram Silk in sky blue and aqua blue. Like a clear Kanchipuram morning reflected in a temple tank, the silk moves from tender sky blue to luminous aqua, with glints of pale gold like sunlight dancing across water. A vintage Kanchipuram handloom saree whose shimmer recalls the changing light over temple water.

❖ Woven on traditional handlooms by artisan families in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, where generations of weaving knowledge shape every saree. Approximately 18 active days on the loom, followed by careful finishing.

A finely handwoven Zari Kattam (zari-grid) body catches the light in tiny, rhythmic intersections. Precisely spaced Annapakshi zari buttas bring an elegant procession of the mythical swan-like bird across the blue silk. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border The traditional Rettapet paired-border composition is expressed through layered gold zari bands and an ornamental Annapakshi border. The blue selvedge frames the broad bands with a vivid aqua finish.

Pallu A grand, lustrous blue pallu with dense geometric zari lattice, ornate Annapakshi panels and arai maadam-inspired architectural divisions, finished with fine zari detailing and blue tassels.

Styling Let the Annapakshi border take pride of place on softly puffed sleeves, for a beautifully nostalgic Kanchipuram silhouette. Custom stitching is optional and not included unless a promotion expressly applies.
