The body is structured through an exceptionally fine classic-gold Zari Kattam. Tiny intersecting zari lines create minute compartments across the Sevappu silk, with a petite floral or star-like gold-zari butta held inside each square. The result is a disciplined lattice of glowing points rather than a large or heavily outlined checked field.

Border: The lower edge becomes broad and architectural in classic gold zari. Layered geometric registers, tiny floral vines and alternating framed motifs build the composition. Chakram-inspired circular medallions sit alongside stylised traditional bird forms and smaller geometric panels, creating the rhythm of carved temple tiles translated into silk.

Mundhanai: The pallu becomes considerably richer, with a tightly packed classic-gold ground structured through minute diamond geometry and substantial longitudinal ornamental bands. A repeated Mayil-inspired bird-and-floral zari panel runs through the composition, framed by narrow geometric Reku-style lines and pointed edging. The dense surface has the glow of temple brass illuminated at dusk.

Styling: A tonal Sevappu blouse keeps the ceremonial red uninterrupted, while classic gold creates a stronger formal treatment. Antique-gold or temple jewellery works naturally with the dense zari. For traditional contrast, add a restrained deep-green blouse or emerald accent, jasmine flowers and an antique-gold or red clutch.
