Sage Olive Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Rettapet Buttas and Multicolour Zari Border
Sage Olive Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Saree with Rettapet Buttas and Multicolour Zari Border
Gifting the mother-to-be at her seemantham — a soft silk for a soon-to-be mother — calls for a saree of gentle, understated elegance. Delicate antique-gold zari paisley buttas are placed across the sage olive pure mulberry silk body, adding subtle richness to the softly luminous silk. Each saree takes 43 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Each piece is handwoven in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district by families we've worked with for years. Read our story.
The body is a muted sage olive pure mulberry silk, densely woven in the traditional Rettapet style — delicate antique-gold zari paisley buttas are placed across the body, adding subtle richness while the silk retains its softly luminous character. This is a signature Kanchipuram pure silk Kanchipuram construction, prized for its understated elegance.
The multicoloured contrast border combines leaf green, rust orange, and royal purple, enriched with antique-gold zari elephant and bird motifs. Fine ornamental bands and the structured Rettapet detailing give the border a distinctive heritage character. The pallu carries the same rich multicoloured zari detailing in a fuller sweep.
A refined choice for weddings, temple celebrations, festive gatherings, and traditional family occasions. Pair with a royal purple or antique gold silk blouse and statement gold jewellery — a temple necklace and jhumkas — for a heritage-rich finish.
