Royal Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Korvai Magenta Zari Border

Royal Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Korvai Magenta Zari Border

A classical dance appreciation evening hosted by a cultural organisation calls for a saree of true regal presence. Body and border are woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking — 45 days from dyeing to weaving, roughly 20 of them on the loom, and cannot be replicated by machine. Handcrafted on family looms in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story

❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced.
Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 45 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 20 on the loom — to complete.
Silk Mark Certified ↗ · 20 Days on Loom · Pure Mulberry Silk · Handwoven in Kanchipuram

The body of this pure silk Kanchipuram saree is woven in royal purple pure mulberry silk, scattered with petite gold zari buttas across its length.

The vivid magenta Korvai border is woven separately in the Korvai tradition and finished with an elaborate gold zari panel of large traditional motifs, continuing into a richly worked pallu — rich, ceremonial, and unmistakably Kanchipuram.

Let the included self-colour royal purple blouse be the deliberate choice here, and build the rest of the look through jewellery and drape: temple-style antique-gold jewellery, and the ornate magenta pallu worn open over the shoulder to let the zari panel show.

Blouse Piece Included — 0.8m self-colour silk. Complimentary tailoring through Aug 27 ($30 value). See the stitching guide
