Royal Purple and Magenta Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Kamalam Lotus Border
Royal Purple and Magenta Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Kamalam Lotus Border
This saree is woven in the Rettapet style, where twin parallel border lines create a balanced, layered edge. Crafted by the weaving families of Kunnam village, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, using techniques passed down for generations — read our story. Each saree takes close to a week on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine.
The body is woven in a rich royal purple pure mulberry silk, scattered with petite gold zari buttas across its length. Explore more from our Kanchipuram Pure Silks collection.
The magenta Rettapet border is woven in a Kamalam (lotus) zari pattern, a motif that has long symbolised purity and grace, carried through into the matching pallu. Discover more from our Korvai Kanchipuram silk sarees, Vairaoosi Kanchipuram silk sarees, and the full Kanchipuram Pure Silks collection.
This saree suits weddings, festive pujas, and receptions where rich colour contrast is desired. Pair it with a magenta or gold blouse, and gold temple jewellery to complement the lotus motif border.
