Royal Orchid Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Mayil and Yazhi Zari Border

Royal Orchid Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Mayil and Yazhi Zari Border

A daughter's first saree — a rite of passage in six yards of silk — calls for a saree of regal grandeur. This saree is handwoven in the distinguished Korvai technique — body and border woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree takes 45 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Handwoven by generations of artisans in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 45 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 20 on the loom — to complete.
● Silk Mark Certified● 20 Days on Loom● Pure Mulberry Silk● Handwoven in Kanchipuram

The body shimmers in a rich royal orchid purple pure mulberry silk with a delicate gold zari grid that lends subtle luminosity to the silk. This is a signature Kanchipuram pure silk Kanchipuram Korvai construction, prized for its exceptional strength and artistry.

The contrasting deep aubergine border is adorned with elegant Mayil (peacock) zari buttas and a magnificent Gaja-Yali (Yazhi) zari border, symbolizing strength, prosperity, and protection — classic elements of Korvai weaving. A richly woven gold zari pallu completes the saree with timeless grandeur.

An heirloom-worthy choice for weddings, temple celebrations, and festive occasions. Pair with a deep aubergine or ivory silk blouse and statement gold jewellery — a long haram and temple necklace — for a truly regal finish.
