Royal Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Jewel Magenta Korvai Border and Vanasringaram Zari Motifs
Royal Ivory Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Saree with Jewel Magenta Korvai Border and Vanasringaram Zari Motifs
A desi wedding weekend in Alpharetta, Georgia — Atlanta's Indian enclave — deserves a saree with real occasion-worthy presence. This handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree is woven in a soft royal ivory, paired with a rich jewel magenta Korvai border. Body and border woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom — one of Kanchipuram's most admired weaving traditions. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes; approximately 20 days on the loom, and cannot be replicated by machine. Handcrafted by skilled artisans in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district. Read our story.
The royal ivory body is woven from 100% pure mulberry silk and delicately embellished with zari buttas that add a refined golden glow without overwhelming the graceful simplicity of the weave. Its warm ivory tone pairs beautifully with the vibrant jewel magenta border ahead, a hallmark of Kanchipuram ceremonial silks.
The spectacular jewel magenta Korvai border is richly woven with Vanasringaram zari motifs — flourishing creepers, floral garlands, peacocks, and paisleys — celebrating the abundance of nature in gleaming zari. The grand pallu carries these elaborate panels throughout, for an opulent finish worthy of ceremonial occasions.
This saree is a striking choice for a wedding reception, a festive Diwali celebration, or a temple ceremony calling for colour. Pair with an ivory or jewel-tone silk blouse and a gold temple jewellery set — a Lakshmi-motif necklace with matching jhumkas complements the magenta beautifully.
