Description

During a wedding celebration in Florida, this saree will carry a vibrant and celebratory tone. Woven in deep royal blue with a rich arakku red border in the korvai tradition, this Kanjeevaram silk saree brings together two colours of deep ceremonial significance — the blue of night sky and the red of the sacred — united by gold zari throughout.

The body is woven in pure royal blue silk, scattered with two alternating butta motifs: kamalam butta — circular lotus forms in gold zari rendered with measured ornamental precision — and kili butta — parrot motifs appearing as individually placed units with a lively, nature-rooted character. The alternating placement of these two classical motifs across the blue ground gives the body a rhythmic variety, each motif distinct yet part of a unified ornamental language.

The arakku red border and pallu are woven in the korvai technique — body and border constructed separately on the loom and interlocked by two weavers working in tandem, creating a precise, seamless colour break. Twin parallel zari lines in the rettapet style frame the border edge with structured balance. The pallu is filled with dense gold zari panels — richly textured, deeply layered, carrying the full ceremonial authority of a Kanchipuram handloom worn for a wedding celebration of the highest order.
