A saree that saves its full drama for the pallu — royal blue woven so fine it's known as "woven air," opening into a dense, richly worked gold pallu that could carry an entire outfit on its own. This is a Katan Silk Chanderi: woven with tightly twisted pure silk in the weft and fine silk in the warp, using the extra-weft technique for its zari motifs. Because the fabric skips the degumming process, it stays exceptionally lightweight and transparent, with a more structured drape than a silk-cotton blend. Handwoven by the weavers' collective in Ashok Nagar, Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. Read our Chanderi silk guide or learn about the four types of Chanderi silk.

The body is woven in royal blue pure silk, scattered all over with small silver butti dots for a soft, even shimmer. Explore our full Chanderi pure silk saree collection.

The pallu and border are densely woven in antique gold with an intricate bird and floral vine motif accented in coral-pink — the most elaborate part of the saree, a striking contrast to the saree's plain, understated body. Finished with a pink-and-gold pinstriped edge.

Pair with a gold or coral silk blouse and antique gold jewellery — well suited to weddings, receptions, and any occasion where the pallu is meant to be the centrepiece of the look. See our full guide to styling Chanderi by occasion.
