Body, Border and Pallu: The body is built around an exceptionally clean Zari Kattam construction. Fine zari lines cross one another to form a measured grid over the royal blue silk. Placed selectively within these checks are beautifully handwoven Gandaberunda zari motifs, each standing proudly against the intense blue. The border is deliberately bold. A wide field of antique gold zari is filled with minute diamond-like geometry and edged with delicate repeating ornamental bands, appearing almost illuminated against the saturated royal blue. The pallu takes the workmanship to another level. The royal blue ground is almost completely transformed by a densely woven arrangement of geometric and traditional zari registers, repeated circular forms and compact ornamental units.
