Rose Pink Purple Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Rettapet Saree with Twin Peacock Border
For a wedding gathering or a quiet evening of celebration, rose pink purple silk carries the poetry of Kanchipuram: a luminous rose pink purple, like fresh jacaranda petals lit by afternoon sun, with amethyst and violet undertones and flashes of rose-purple along the folds.
❖ 18 days on the loom, handwoven in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu by artisan weaver families — every purchase supports their village and this centuries-old tradition.

Woven in the Rettapet tradition, this pure mulberry silk saree balances petite elephant buttas across the body with a distinctive double-border composition. A luminous rose pink purple, like fresh jacaranda petals lit by afternoon sun, with amethyst and violet undertones and flashes of rose-purple along the folds. The closely ordered zari elements bring a measured shimmer rather than an uninterrupted metallic surface. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: Two bands of finely delineated antique-gold twin peacocks frame the lower edge, while a vivid vermilion-red selvedge makes the purple appear brighter. In Kanchipuram terminology, Rettapet describes the double-border arrangement; the paired mayil (peacock) figures have ornamental plumage and floral scrollwork.
Pallu: An expansive purple field carries tall, closely ordered zari panels, sinuous mayil-vanki-inspired motifs and intricate kodi-malar flourishes, glowing against the silk. Explore the Rettapet collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.
Styling: Try a muted gold blouse, delicate jasmine and traditional gold jewellery to keep the vivid purple centre stage.
