Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Varisaipet Saree with Veldhari Zari Stripes
Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Varisaipet Saree with Veldhari Zari Stripes
Saturated Red gives this handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram a clear ceremonial ground, distinguished by repeated Veldhari-style zari stripes that move rhythmically across the body. Their narrow linear repetition adds light and architectural structure without turning the silk into an all-over metallic field.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 42 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 16 on the loom — to complete.

Handwoven in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living, the saree keeps the vivid red body visually dominant while using the repeated zari stripes to create movement. Read our story.
Border: The Varisaipet treatment combines multiple layered registers of pale metallic gold zari with delicate pink silk-thread accents. The coloured thread softens and articulates the metallic bands rather than allowing the border to read as one uninterrupted zari field.
Styling: A tonal red blouse keeps the linear body uninterrupted, while soft pink connects to the silk-thread accents. Antique gold or deep green provides a stronger ceremonial contrast for festive occasions, ceremonies and cultural gatherings.
Slight color variations due to screen and lighting; daylight photos/videos available on request.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m running blouse piece. See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
