Red Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Butta Saree with Gandaberunda Gold Zari Motifs and Pink Border

Red Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Butta Saree with Gandaberunda Gold Zari Motifs and Pink Border

Radiant Red gives this handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu a clear ceremonial body, distinguished by repeating confirmed Gandaberunda gold-zari buttas. The historic double-headed bird motif is generously spaced so the silk retains open negative space around each form.

❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 40 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 14 on the loom — to complete.

This is a confirmed Butta composition, distinguished by repeating confirmed Gandaberunda gold-zari buttas, the historic double-headed bird motif, generously spaced so the silk retains open negative space around each form.

Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 14 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.

Border: A Soft Pink contrast frames the saree with fine gold-zari lines, adding a gentler edge to the vivid red body.

Pallu: The pallu develops into a luminous all-over zari field, creating a strong contrast with the more restrained motif-led body.

Styling: Tonal Red keeps the Gandaberunda motifs central, while Soft Pink repeats the border. Antique gold or deep green creates a more traditional ceremonial direction.
