Raspberry Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Vairaoosi Saree with Gold Zari Buttas and Aubergine Border
There is an extraordinary luminosity to this Raspberry Pink handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram saree. The colour sits between saturated magenta and a deep ceremonial rose, becoming brighter wherever the silk catches the light.

This is a confirmed Vairaoosi composition in pure mulberry silk: exceptionally fine, closely spaced linear weaving creates a delicate pinstripe-like texture across the silk. A saree of this type typically represents approximately 16 to 20 active days on the loom, although individual weaving time varies. Woven for Idam Living by skilled artisan families in the Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
Body, Border and Pallu: Small individual gold zari buttas are placed at measured intervals across the fine Vairaoosi weave, allowing both the colour and the fineness of the weaving to remain visible. A narrow band of deep aubergine-purple separates the vivid pink body from a broad gold zari border woven with a finely articulated chevron-like field and smaller ornamental registers. The pallu is considerably richer, with a dense gold zari grid spreading across the field, filled with minute repeating woven forms and framed by more elaborate zari bands. Explore the Vairaoosi collection, or browse the wider pure silk Kanchipuram collection for more of this character.
Styling: Let the raspberry and aubergine relationship remain the focus. A plain deep aubergine blouse would create a beautifully grounded contrast, while raspberry keeps the look tonal and contemporary. Choose one antique-gold necklace or sculptural earrings rather than layering several heavy pieces. A softly centre-parted low bun with jasmine, or a polished braid with minimal adornment, completes the look without competing with the zari.
