Woven in the Rettapet tradition, the double-sided border balances an oosi-striped pink body and petite handwoven zari buttas with orange-coral contrast bands. The pallu gathers the gold into a closely arranged geometric zari field. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: A broad double-sided Rettapet border in warm orange-coral silk with gold zari bands, geometric ornamental bands and a slender deep green selvedge
Pallu: A contrasting rose-pink and coral-toned pallu densely worked with gold zari kattam, small diamond grids and ornamental vertical framing bands
Styling: Pair with a warm gold or deep green blouse and antique-gold jewellery; the orange contrast gives the pink silk a beautiful festive lift.
