Raspberry Coral Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Zari Kattam Checks and Antique Gold Border
Welcoming a daughter-in-law with her first family Kanjeevaram, this handwoven pure silk Kancheepuram brings together a particularly luminous interpretation of traditional Zari Kattam. The body is a radiant raspberry-coral pink with a warm vermilion undertone, moving between rose pink, coral red and saturated rani pink as the silk catches the light. Handwoven in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Read our story →

The pure mulberry silk body is structured through the characteristic Zari Kattam grid, where fine gold appearance zari lines create a measured checked rhythm across the saturated pink silk. Individually woven traditional buttas appear through the body in alternating gold and silver appearance zari, giving the checks a jewel-like point of contrast without disturbing the clarity of the grid. The border becomes considerably richer, with broad antique-gold appearance zari framed by finely worked floral, scrolling and geometric registers. A deep aubergine-maroon outer edge grounds the glowing pink and gold palette beautifully. The pallu becomes the most opulent section, opening into a burnished copper-gold field densely woven with fine repeating geometry and traditional ornamental bands. Styling: This saree can carry restrained heritage layering beautifully. Pair a shorter antique-gold necklace with one longer traditional chain or pendant piece, but keep the earrings comparatively controlled. A deep aubergine blouse would echo the dark border edge, while an open pallu will allow the burnished copper-gold weaving to remain visible.
