The pure mulberry silk body moves between saturated Rani Pink, raspberry-magenta and a glowing Vermilion Orange cast depending on the angle of the fabric. Small gold zari buttas are placed at measured intervals across the body, including circular medallion-like forms and larger ornamental buttas. The broad border is richly woven in gold zari with alternating geometric and ornamental registers, framed by a slim warm vermilion-orange silk edge. The pallu becomes considerably denser, with an all-over diamond lattice in zari surrounded by broad decorative bands. The zari catches differently against the shifting pink-orange ground, giving the composition a deep ceremonial glow without losing the clarity of the body.
