Rani Pink Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Butta Saree with Maanga Gold Zari Border

A vivid Rani Pink and Gulabi Pure Silk Kanchipuram, saturated with the brilliance of bougainvillea petals and ripe pomegranate skin. As the silk falls into shadow, the pink deepens toward a richer magenta, giving the colour the dimensional glow characteristic of handwoven Kanchipuram silk.

This is a confirmed Butta composition. Small classic gold zari motifs are placed with deliberate restraint across the body, including tiny geometric kattam-style squares and traditional stylised forms. Their sparseness gives the Rani Pink field room to glow rather than allowing the ornament to dominate.

Border: The lower edge develops into a broad Kaal Irangiya-style gold zari treatment. A delicate rekku-like leaf edging and fine Reku lines introduce the border before it opens into a substantial ornamental register. Large maanga-inspired paisley forms repeat across the band, each enriched with floral infill in warm traditional gold zari.

Against the saturated Gulabi silk, the gold has the warmth of polished temple brass against crushed rose petals. The scale of the maanga motifs gives the border a strong ceremonial presence while the fine Reku divisions keep its architecture precise.

Classification note: Kaal Irangiya-style is used here only to describe the broad visual treatment of the border. The owner-confirmed product type remains Butta and must not be changed.

Pallu: The pallu becomes considerably more elaborate, opening into a dense diamond-lattice zari field with an almost jewel-like scale. A vertical ornamental register carries repeating traditional forms framed by narrow Reku lines and a serrated rekku-style finish. The repetition creates the measured architectural rhythm associated with grand traditional Kanchipuram pallus.

Traditional temple jewellery, layered gold necklaces or sculptural jhumkas work naturally with the maanga border.
