Rani Pink Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Rettapet Saree with Bird Motif Gold Zari Border
Rani Pink Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Rettapet Saree with Bird Motif Gold Zari Border
Rani Pink carries this KanchiPattu with remarkable clarity, its open silk body punctuated by small circular gold zari buttas before the edge becomes considerably more ornate. The Rettapet border introduces large woven bird forms, floral detailing and slim navy accents, giving the saturated pink a ceremonial old-Kanchi character.
❖ Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 43 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 18 on the loom — to complete.

This is a confirmed Rettapet composition in pure mulberry silk, defined by traditional twin-register border detailing. Individually spaced circular floral-style gold zari buttas punctuate the saturated Rani Pink body while preserving generous areas of uninterrupted silk. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: The tonal pink Rettapet border carries a broad classic-gold zari register of repeated stylised bird forms surrounded by floral and scrolling ornament. Slim navy-blue accent lines and fine geometric supporting bands sharpen the edge without interrupting the saturated pink ground.
Pallu: The supplied photograph shows only a partial rich pallu section. What is confirmed is a tonal Rani Pink field with a broad longitudinal classic-gold zari register, large paisley-shaped or leaf-shaped ornamental forms, pointed edging and fine linear zari bands. The principal pallu field is not separately visible and is not inferred.
Styling: Pair with a tonal Rani Pink blouse for an uninterrupted ceremonial look, or choose deep navy to repeat the fine border accents. Antique-gold jewellery, jasmine and a low braid will keep the styling traditional. For a reception, one sculptural cuff and a navy or muted-gold clutch will frame the richly woven bird border cleanly.
Current Look: Saturated fuchsia Kanchipuram silk with gold buti detailing has also appeared in recent ceremonial dressing. Radhika Ambani’s September 2026 Bharatanatyam look used a fuchsia-and-gold Kanchipuram with small gold floral butis and ornate gold work. This Idam Living saree is a separate handwoven Rettapet KanchiPattu with its own bird-motif border construction.
The Rani Pink and classic-gold palette is especially suited to Navratri and Golu gatherings, Vijayadashami, Deepavali celebrations, weddings, receptions, temple programs, arangetrams, classical performances and other festive occasions, ceremonies, cultural gatherings and special occasions.
