Rani Pink and Coral Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Butta Saree with Gold Zari Buttas
Rani Pink and Coral Orange Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram Butta Saree with Gold Zari Buttas
Rani Pink takes on a warm Coral Orange and Vermilion glow across this handwoven Pure Silk Kanjivaram saree, giving the colour a beautiful sense of movement rather than the look of one flat shade. The silk can appear deeper pink through one fold and warmer through the next, while small points of gold from the zari buttas quietly interrupt the colour.
Petite individual gold zari buttas are spaced across the pure mulberry silk body with generous open silk between them, keeping the surface refined rather than crowded. The border is comparatively restrained, using luminous gold zari to frame the saturated pink-orange body without competing with it.
The pallu changes the balance completely. A dense gold zari diamond lattice fills the central field, framed by broader ornamental zari registers that create a much richer finish when the pallu falls over the shoulder. The transition from the lightly ornamented body to the concentrated gold pallu is one of the strongest features of this saree.
This piece took approximately 16 to 18 active loom days to weave, with preparation and finishing taking place outside that weaving window. Handwoven in Kanchipuram from pure mulberry silk, the saree includes an approximately 0.8 m running blouse piece within its approximately 6.3 m total length.
For styling, keep the colour story cohesive with a clean Rani Pink, deep raspberry or warm vermilion blouse. A pair of gold jhumkas or one antique-gold necklace is enough beside the zari, while a center-parted low bun with a small jasmine cluster gives the drape a polished South Indian finish. Its saturated colour and gold detailing are particularly suited to Navratri gatherings, Diwali celebrations, temple occasions, weddings and festive family evenings.
