For Navratri golu visits and South Indian festive gatherings, this handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree brings together luminous Ramar Blue, deep Neelam Violet and warm thanga zari. The colour recalls a kingfisher wing catching full sunlight against the deeper blue-violet of butterfly-pea petals.

This is a confirmed Butta composition. The Ramar Blue body is deliberately open and regal, with alternating chakram-style rosettes and petite stylised maanga and poo buttas woven in warm thanga zari. Their measured spacing lets the colour and natural lustre of the pure mulberry silk remain visible rather than filling the body with ornament.

Border: The deep Neelam-violet pettu carries the strongest ornamentation. Large maanga medallions sit inside dense kodi-valli floral work, followed by a broad lustrous thanga zari band. Fine geometric edging and disciplined seer lines frame the larger motifs and give the border the ordered richness associated with old-Kanchi design.

Pallu: The saree turns fully into deep violet at the pallu. Long vertical zari seer registers travel through the field like narrow temple columns, while the lower edge returns to richly worked maanga-kodi panels. The contrast between Ramar Blue, violet and warm gold becomes strongest here.

Styling: Keep the blouse in deep violet or a clean Ramar Blue so the body buttas remain visible. Choose one temple-gold necklace or strong jhumkas rather than layering both. Wear the pallu open enough to show the vertical seer registers, and finish with a neat low bun for a clean, textile-led silhouette.
