A striking Ramar Blue and Arakku colour story defines this handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree. The body is an electric peacock-blue, bright and saturated like clear sky reflected on deep temple-tank water. Running through it are extremely fine Arakku-toned pinstripes, almost hairline in scale, giving the blue silk a disciplined old-Kanchi rhythm.

Across the body sit spaced Arakku silk buttas in compact floral-medallion forms, almost like tiny seed heads suspended against the blue. Their deep pomegranate-maroon tone anchors the vivid body colour without making the field visually heavy.

Kai Korvai: This saree is woven using the traditional hand-interlocked Korvai technique. The Ramar Blue body and contrasting Arakku border are treated as distinct woven colour sections and carefully joined together by hand on the loom. This interlocking construction allows the border to hold a strongly contrasting colour while remaining structurally integrated with the body, and it demands greater control from the weaver than a continuous single-colour border treatment.

Border: The pettu moves into rich Arakku and garnet-maroon, edged with classic gold zari. Its principal register carries repeating old-Kanchi floral-paisley forms, framed by narrow reku bands, minute chevron details and delicate leaf-like edging. Fine Arakku silk lines run through the gold, keeping the zari textile-led and softly antique rather than creating an uninterrupted metallic field.

Pallu: The pallu becomes almost entirely Arakku and is organised into long architectural zari varisai. Repeating ornamental floral forms sit within vertical gold registers, separated by slender reku and red-silk lines. Against the dark pallu, the gold reads like late sunlight striking old temple brass.

Styling: Pair it with an Arakku blouse to continue the pettu and pallu, or choose Ramar Blue for a strong tonal body. Antique-finish temple jewellery works beautifully with the warm gold and pomegranate-maroon contrast.
