Radiant pink in Kanchipuram silk is a colour of pure festive joy — warm, fully saturated, and entirely confident in its own brightness. And this Kanjeevaram carries the Yazhi border: the mythical leonine composite creature of South Indian temple architecture, a fusion of lion, elephant, and serpent rendered in gold, woven in procession along the border band. This Kanjeevaram is woven in the Varisaipet tradition. Each saree takes 8–12 days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine. The radiant pink body carries two types of gold zari butta — Mayil Butta (the peacock motif, its feathered form rendered in woven gold) and Maan Butta (the deer motif in gold zari) — placed at intervals across the body, the two butta types varying in form and scale but united in their gold zari execution against the vivid pink ground. The deep plum Varisaipet border carries Yazhi motifs in gold zari in procession, flanked by multiple gold zari framing bands. The pallu continues the same deep plum and Yazhi gold structure.
