This pure mulberry silk Kanjeevaram is built on a classic Rettapet composition, with the traditional twin-register border structure framing a luminous orange-pink shot-colour body scattered with individually spaced classic-gold zari buttas. Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this complexity represents approximately 18 or more active days on the loom, with exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: The Rettapet edge is developed through layered gold-zari registers against the orange-pink silk, combining floral-style ornament, narrow geometric bands and broad areas of warm shot colour.
Pallu: The pallu turns more decisively pink, with long vertical classic-gold zari registers, repeated large stylised bird forms and fine linear bands, finished with vivid orange tassels.
Styling: A hot-pink blouse will emphasise the cooler face of the shot silk, while coral orange brings forward its warmer register. Keep jewellery antique gold and let the colour shift remain the main visual event.
