Pista Pachai Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Varisaipet Saree with Lotus Peach Gold Zari Pallu
Pista Pachai Handwoven Pure Silk Kanchipuram Varisaipet Saree with Lotus Peach Gold Zari Pallu
For Navratri golu visits and festive gatherings, this handwoven pure silk Kanchipuram saree brings together an unusually gentle Pista Pachai green and lotus-petal peach. The body has the softness of the first flush of new leaves, while the contrast silk warms toward coral as it catches light. Together they recall spring foliage beside the inside of a champaka blossom, delicate in colour yet unmistakably Kanchipuram.
This is a confirmed Varisaipet composition. The pale green body is deliberately airy, with petite traditional gold zari buttas spaced generously across the silk. Their restrained placement keeps the Pista Pachai field luminous and allows the natural texture and lustre of the pure mulberry silk to remain the focus.
Handwoven by artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu, for Idam Living. A saree of this level of handloom work represents approximately 19 or more active days on the loom, with the exact weaving time varying according to the individual saree. Read our story.
Border: At the pettu, lotus-petal peach creates the contrast and carries a broad traditional gold-zari treatment. Layered seer lines, tiny geometric bands and repeating stylised floral-paisley registers build the border gradually rather than as one uninterrupted field of gold. Against the peach silk, the zari takes on a softly antique character that gives the saree an old-Kanchi warmth.
Pallu: The pallu continues in peach with long varisai zari bands, alternating ornamental panels and fine linear work. The repeated bands create an architectural rhythm across the silk while leaving enough peach visible to preserve the gentleness of the palette.
Styling: Pair it with a peach blouse to continue the contrast pettu, or choose Pista Pachai for a quieter tonal look. Pearl-gold jewellery, small jhumkas or one temple pendant would complement the soft colour story without overpowering it. Wear the pallu slightly open so the layered varisai bands remain visible.
The restrained pistachio, peach and gold palette works beautifully for Navratri Golu, Vijayadashami gatherings, Diwali celebrations, temple programmes, classical performances, weddings, engagement gatherings and milestone family occasions.
