Pillar-Box Red Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjipuram Saree with Varisaipet Weave and Antique Gold Zari Border

Traditional multi-band border structure with repeated woven lines. Each saree takes 42 days from dyeing to weaving and cannot be replicated by machine. Our artisan partners in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district hand-weave every saree we sell. Read our story.
❖ Handwoven to order, not mass-produced. Made to order, not off a shelf. This saree took 42 days — dyeing, threading, and roughly 16 on the loom — to complete.
The Varisaipet body in pillar-box red — a saturated pillar-box red gives the silk a rich ceremonial glow, structured with intersecting antique-gold zari lines and petite woven motifs, in pure mulberry silk.
The border is an elaborate border woven with multiple zari bands framing beautifully rendered peacocks, paisley forms and traditional geometric motifs, culminating in a lustrous gold zari panel, completed with a grand zari pallu that closes the classic red-and-gold palette with exceptional visual richness.
Handwoven by skilled artisan families in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, using pure mulberry silk and traditional handloom techniques, this saree is perfect for weddings, festive occasions and ceremonial wear.
