Pearl Ivory becomes a densely woven canvas in this pure silk Kanjivaram saree. Instead of leaving the body largely open, fine floral, foliate and bird-like forms travel almost continuously through the silk in muted red, rose and warm gold, creating an unusually tone-intensive woven surface. Against this softer ivory field, the Arakku Red border arrives with remarkable visual force, densely filled with warm-gold zari ornament. The saree remains Kanchipuram in provenance and construction, while its elaborate jaal-like decorative language brings a distinct Banarasi-style influence to the overall composition.
