Peacock Teal Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Royal Purple Varisaipet Border

Peacock Teal Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Royal Purple Varisaipet Border

A desi cultural evening in Iselin, New Jersey — Oak Tree Road's famous Indian strip — calls for a saree with bold presence. This handwoven pure silk Kanjeevaram saree is woven in an enchanting peacock teal, contrasted with a royal purple Varisaipet border. Varisaipet is a traditional multi-band border structure with repeated woven lines, introducing graceful zari striping that lends depth and quiet sophistication to the silk. Each saree takes approximately 10 days on the loom and cannot be replicated by machine. Brought to life on the loom by artisan families in Kunnam village in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.

The luminous peacock teal body is woven from pure mulberry silk and enhanced with finely aligned zari stripes that create a subtle grid-like rhythm across the body. Explore more of our Varisaipet collection.

The royal purple border is densely woven with yali forms, mango paisleys, floral creepers, scrolling vines, ornamental foliage, and geometric zari panels. The elaborate grand pallu continues these heritage motifs in richly woven zari, a hallmark of Kanchipuram ceremonial silks.

This saree is perfect for weddings, festivals, and receptions where colour is the centrepiece. Pair with an ivory or gold silk blouse and a gold temple jewellery set — a Lakshmi-motif necklace with matching jhumkas complements the teal beautifully.
