Sapphire Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Deep Raspberry Red Korvai Border
Sapphire Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kanjeevaram Saree with Deep Raspberry Red Korvai Border
Sankranti kite festival and community lunch — Telugu association event calls for a saree with rich, festive colour. This handwoven pure silk Kanjeevaram saree is woven in the celebrated Korvai construction, where body and border are woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 15 days on the loom, and cannot be replicated by machine. Woven by our family's artisan weaver families in Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
The rich sapphire blue body is woven from 100% pure mulberry silk with a deep, jewel-toned lustre, highlighted by elegantly spaced antique gold zari buttas. Explore more from our Korvai Kanchipuram collection.
The striking deep raspberry red Korvai border is lavishly woven with elephant motifs, floral vines, temple-inspired bands, and intricate zari detailing. The richly woven grand pallu mirrors the same traditional artistry. See more Kanchipuram ceremonial silks.
