Peacock Teal Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree with Vermilion Korvai Elephant Zari Border
Peacock Teal Handwoven Pure Silk KanchiPattu Saree with Vermilion Korvai Elephant Zari Border
A Diwali night gala hosted by a local Indian association calls for a saree that commands the room the moment you enter it. Korvai construction means body and border are woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 20 days on the loom, and cannot be replicated by machine. Handcrafted on family looms across Kanchipuram district, Tamil Nadu. Read our story.
The luminous peacock teal body is woven from 100% pure mulberry silk and adorned with gold zari buttas inspired by traditional floral medallions and mango motifs, scattered across the silk in a refined rhythm that lets the vivid body colour remain the centrepiece. Explore more from our Korvai Kanchipuram silk saree collection.
The vibrant vermilion Korvai border is richly woven with majestic elephant motifs symbolising strength, prosperity and royal heritage, framed by temple-inspired geometric panels and floral vines. The grand pallu carries the same dense zari work into a ceremonial finish worthy of any Kanchipuram ceremonial silk.
Pair this saree with a vermilion silk blouse and temple jewellery in antique gold for weddings, Diwali celebrations and temple visits — it holds its own at a gala and at a muhurtham alike.
