Peacock Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Magenta Korvai Border
Peacock Blue Handwoven Pure Silk Kancheepuram Saree with Magenta Korvai Border
Celebrating a friend’s anniversary with a saree as memorable as the day itself. This saree is woven in the much-loved Mayil Kazhuthu — peacock-neck blue-green — and finished in the traditional Korvai technique — Body and border woven separately and structurally interlocked on the loom. Each saree involves two separate weaving processes — the Korvai construction requires body and border to be woven on separate looms before structural interlocking. 14 days on the loom. Crafted thread by thread by artisan families in Kanchipuram district. read our story

The body is woven in pure mulberry silk in a shot-colour peacock blue-green with blue dominance, a remarkable colour that shifts between saturated peacock blue and flashes of green as the silk catches the light, finished with delicately spaced zari buttas. Because this is a shot-colour weave, store it away from direct sunlight to help preserve the colour shift. Explore more Korvai weaves.
In the traditional Korvai technique, the body meets a vivid magenta-purple contrast border, exceptionally detailed with twin peacocks arranged within ornamental arches, surrounded by intricate floral and geometric zari work; the pallu is densely and intensively woven, with extensive zari work creating a richly textured finish and beautiful radiance when draped. Styling Tip
Build the rest of the look around warm gold — antique-gold jhumkas and a self-colour magenta blouse let the shot-colour body do the shifting, while the pallu’s dense zari work provides all the shine you need. Wear the pallu open to show its full radiance.
Blouse Piece Included: 0.8m self-colour magenta piece, with complimentary tailoring through August 27 ($30 value). See our Blouse Stitching Guide.
